Urbis Design Day is an annual event, which gives people an exclusive tour of Auckland’s leading interior and spatial design showrooms. Each showroom gets paired up with creatives from different design disciplines, and the challenge is to produce a stand-out installation piece to set the showroom above the rest.
Cupcake Pavilion
The Cupcake Pavilion is an initiative by multidisciplinary design collective OH.NO.SUMO. I had the pleasure of catching-up with the talented team at the Best Awards on Friday. On top of that, it was great to see them receive the prestigious Gold Pin award for The Cupcake Pavilion (along with another silver for Paper Sky), making this post an extra special one. I’m really happy they got the recognition they deserved for the stunning and very clever piece of work – well done guys!
Introducing Aesop on rue Saint-Honoré
Finally, the long wait is over! Here is a glimpse into the new Aesop store, which just opened it’s doors to the public last week. It’s located on Rue Saint Honore, in the historical part of Paris.
Ode to Aesop
Imagine my excitement when I heard this week that March Design was in Paris installing the new Aesop store on rue Saint-Honoré. The store was built in Melbourne and transported directly to Paris, which is due to open at the beginning of this month. Not only that but Aesop is also intending on opening their signature store in Tokyo later this year.
